As part of a £40m major city centre redevelopment by Bovis Lend Lease, Scudders carried out the demolition of the central section of the former retail area.

Due to the complicated sequencing of the works, extensive temporary support works had to be designed and installed to enable the removal of heavily reinforced concrete beams, slabs and stairs. This included restricted headroom piling, pile caps and temporary props to support the severed structural beams etc pending their integration onto the new build at a later stage in the project. All the temporary works designs were carried out by our in-house Engineering Department.
